Our Adult Day Services Program is tailored to meet each participant's individual and personal needs. We offer a safe, comfortable place to enjoy social and recreational activities with peers, and provide any and all assistance needed throughout the day. We have a wide variety of services available to our Adult Day participants. More information on these services can be found near the bottom of this page.

Everyday at Common Sense is fun and enjoyable. We start the day with a social hour so we can catch up with friends and keep up on current events. We follow that with a variety of activities throughout the day, a hot lunch at noon, and a snack at 2:00PM. Every day is different and exciting but planned around a basic structure to help build a familiar routine.

Throughout the year we plan outings to interesting places. In the past we have enjoyed a picnic in Phalen Park, visited the Vietnam Memorial Wall when it was at South Saint Paul High School, went to the river on a fishing trip, and traveled to see the Ice Palace in Saint Paul.

We love to have fun at Common Sense so we are always working on the next holiday party or special day to celebrate. Plans for each month can be viewed on the Calendar page.

All of our services are available to our participants throughout the day. Upon intake an individual care plan is designed with each participant and together we determine which services will best suit their needs. If at any time needs change so does the care plan. (Some services such as hair care and showers do have additional costs. See below, or call for more information.)

HOURS: Monday through Friday 6:30AM - 6:00PM

COST: Rates for Adult Day Services are determined using Levels of Care. Click here for descriptions of each level.
Level 1: $13.00/hour
Level 2: $14.00/hour
Level 3: $15.00/hour

SHOWERS: Showers start at $20.00 a piece.

MEALS: A hot noon meal is offered everyday for the cost of $5.00. Snacks are provided throughout the day for no additional charge. Participants are free to bring meals or snack with them, if that is preferred.

HAIR CARE: Appointments for hair care can be made at Gen's Beauty shop located in our building.
The rates are:
Hair Cut - $11.00,
Shampoo and Style - $14.00
Perms - $44.00.

TRANSPORTATION: If needed, transportation to and from our center can be arranged by us and has an average cost of $5.00 each way.

PRE-CENTER HOMECARE: Trained Personal Care Assistants are available to assist with personal care, dressing, and supervision in the home prior to transportation of the participant to the center. Please call for more information.
